Jamie De Guire's Mastery Journal

Intention Statement

You might not write well every day, but you can always edit a bad page. You can’t edit a blank page. -Jodi Picoult

I couldn’t have said it any better than, Picoult. Before I go on typing and you reading, following, or doing whatever it is that you do with blogs, please let me clear the air. I never intended to write a blog, nor did I ever want to write one, but I guess someone decided to edit the bad page in my life. If you asked me years ago or even just last week about writing a blog, I would have said no way. So, here I am blogging. Blogging… Even the sound of that word brings a sinking feeling to my stomach. Let’s change that. From now on I am writing. Writing so that you can enjoy the content of these pages.

So, for the next twelve months, I will be sharing with you my Mastery Journey, and all that I have learned and achieved. And during this time frame, I hope to better my skills in stringing words to craft better sentences that shape the imagery world in my audience’s minds. It’s also my goal to finish that novel of mine that’s still in progress and has been for about four years now. So, its high time that I finish it because the world deserves to read it.

I also hope to improve my writing skills so that I feel confident in writing about anything, including this Mastery Journey post. I want to be able not to overthink it and just do it. And, I want to better my character development for both the heroes and the villains, and of course, my secondary characters, though I know they don’t need much about themselves. Overall, I am open to learning new things and gaining new experiences that this journey to Mastery has to offer.

I hope you enjoy reading.
